Step 1 - Registration

First of all, you will need to register. The quickest way to do this is on line by clicking on the application form tab at the top of this page. Please remember that you will need to create a login before you can complete the application form. You can do this by clicking on the login/my account tab above if you have not already done so.

If you are having trouble with the on-line form or if you are not confident with the internet please contact the homechoice team on 0300 123 5031. We can often complete an application with you over the phone or we may offer you an appointment to meet a member of the team face to face to discuss your application.

Click Prioritising Applications for more information about how we assess each persons circumstances.You must tell us if there are any changes in your circumstances so that we can reassess your application and, if necessary, make changes to your star rating and priority date.

Property size

You will only be eligible for properties that are suitable for the size of your family. The following table tells you how we normally decide on the number of bedrooms that you are eligible for:

 Parent (s) with two same sex children aged 10-20       2 Bed      
 Single person or couple with one girl and one boy where the oldest child is over 10 years        3 bedrooms    
 Single person or couple with two same sex children where the oldest child is over 21 years         3 bedrooms    
 Single person or couple with three or four children *        3 bedrooms  4 Bedrooms  
 Single person or couple with five or more children *          4 Bedrooms  5 bedrooms

* The maximum number of bedrooms will follow the rule for age and sex separation given for families with two children. Non-dependent children over 21,cousins, grandchildren and other relatives will normally be assessed using the same rules.
